Engineering Test Banks

Engineering test banks for three upper-level and trade courses: Finite Element Analysis, Power System Analysis, and Advanced Construction and Carpentry. The titles are Daryl Logan’s finite element text (Enhanced Edition, 6th edition), Glover’s Power System Analysis and Design (SI Edition, 6th edition) and Bonnici’s Advanced Construction and Carpentry Skills. Each set follows its own book chapter by chapter, is tied to one edition and ISBN, and explains every answer. This is a small category, so if your course uses a different engineering book, the request form is the quickest route.

What these engineering test banks cover

The Logan finite element test bank (6th edition) covers stiffness formulation, spring and bar elements, trusses, beams and frames, plane stress and strain, and modeling judgment. The Glover power systems SI edition test bank works through per-unit analysis, transmission line parameters, power flow, symmetrical faults, symmetrical components and stability. The Advanced Construction and Carpentry Skills test bank is trade-focused: advanced framing, roofing geometry, formwork, stairs and site safety.

How to practise engineering problems

For finite elements, assemble a global stiffness matrix by hand for a two- or three-element bar or spring system at least once: write each element matrix, map local to global degrees of freedom, apply boundary conditions and solve for displacements. After that, the conceptual questions about element choice and mesh refinement make sense. For power systems, convert everything to per-unit on a common base before you calculate, and keep track of the base on each side of a transformer. In construction, work roof pitch, rafter length and stair rise and run with the book’s methods, checking against the code limits your course uses.

SI and enhanced editions

Glover’s text here is the SI Edition, which uses metric units throughout, and Logan’s is the Enhanced Edition of the 6th; make sure your copy says the same. Related: calculus and differential equations, physics and thermodynamics and the science and engineering subjects hub. For a book we don’t carry, use the textbook request form.

Frequently asked questions

Does the finite element test bank require software like ANSYS or Abaqus?

No. The questions are answered on paper: hand calculations of element stiffness matrices, assembly, boundary conditions and displacements for small systems, plus conceptual items on element types and modeling choices. Your course may use software for projects, but these practice questions don't depend on it.

Is the power systems set in SI units?

Yes. It follows Power System Analysis and Design, SI Edition, 6th edition, by Glover and colleagues, so values are metric throughout. Per-unit problems are unit-independent once you choose a base, but line parameters and conductor data follow the SI book's tables.

Who is the carpentry test bank for?

Advanced Construction and Carpentry Skills is written for carpentry apprentices and construction trade students, so its questions are practical: framing methods, roof geometry, formwork, stair construction and site safety. It suits a trade or vocational program rather than a university engineering degree.
